Mrs. Greer's MS Drama Class
Class News
April 2007

Dear ACS Parents & Students,
We are coming to a close of our skill and knowledge building units.  Students will
have their last written test on Monday, April 16.  Throughout third quarter
students learned about Western theatre history, created and used masks for
pantomime acting, and they have learned how to manipulate their bodies and
voices for various acting purposes.  Students love to do our warm up routines
which build trust and they love given circumstances (the chair game).

All good actors need to learn tricks of the trade!  Our MS drama students have
kept an acting journal, trained their voices with articulation exercises, and they
learned how to be prepared for an audition.  They even used their own scripts
they wrote in class as a part of their auditions!

Throughout fourth quarter we will build our production of The Maharajah is
Bored.  We will have blocking and interpretation rehearsals as well as polishing
and technical rehearsals.  I will send home costume information before the end of
the month as well as a rehearsal schedule.  Our performance is unofficially set for
May 22 in the evening. Until then...
