Grade 9 Literature concentrates on the introduction of the
major literary genres. You will learn to read each genre with
comprehension and develop the ability to analyze and
interpret literature both orally and through various written
formats. Vocabulary is taught through literature and daily
usage throughout the year. A large focus of the class will be
on developing reading strategies and a reading portfolio.
You will need a 3-ringed binder and 5 dividers for notes &
handouts. Portfolio folders will be provided.
