Grade 12 Writing is a year long course that focuses on college
level writing skills. The first semester is devoted to various
forms of essay writing in preparation for college applications.
You will write and refine application essays, business and
professional letters, and create academic& extracurricular
resumes. The second semester will be devoted to lengthier
research writing and literary analysis. Class discussion will
focus on various authors’ use of language and structure—and
how that influences the content of the piece. Your written
pieces will be modeled after the selected readings and
maintained in a writing portfolio.
